VSX Revision Helper

Load an object from AAVSO VSX, compare current vs updated values, and generate a ready-to-paste revision summary for your submissions.

1. Load VSX Object

Enter the VSX identifier you would normally search for (e.g. TRAPPIST-1, WASP-52) and fetch the current VSX values through the helper API.

2. Compare & Edit Fields

The left column shows the current values fetched from VSX. Edit the right column with values from your new papers. Fields that differ will be highlighted so you don’t miss revision comments.

Enter a PDF URL after loading a VSX object, then click “Scan paper with AI”.
Tip: Only a subset of VSX fields is available via the public API. The rest can be copy/pasted directly from the VSX web page.

3. Generate Revision Summary

Create a concise summary of all changed fields that you can paste into the VSX revision comments box.

Changed fields will be listed as Name: old → new.

You can tweak wording directly here before pasting into VSX if needed.
